Rayna M Dyck

Rayna M. Dyck, MD is a native of Dothan, Alabama with strong ties to the Birmingham area. She received her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science in history and chemistry respectively from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, summa cum laude with University Honors. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Medicine in 2009 from the prestigious Mayo Medical School in Rochester, Minnesota. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine and Dermatology residency at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

During her residency, Dr. Dyck was involved in the program’s clinical research track. Her research interests included hair disorders, health disparities, infectious diseases, and dermatopathology. For her efforts, she has been awarded mentorship grants from both the North American Hair Research Society and the American Society for Dermatopathology. Dr. Dyck is also an active member of the Women’s Dermatologic Society and currently serves on the Editorial Board, as well as the Social Media Task Force.
Her special clinical interests include inflammatory hair disorders, acne, rosacea, pigmentary disorders, photodynamic therapy, and pediatric dermatology. She is also skilled in dermatologic surgery and the care of cancerous and non-cancerous growths of the skin. In addition, Dr. Dyck has an interest in ethnic skin and hair and diseases, such as keloids, hyperpigmentation, and scarring hair loss. Her goal is to consistently provide compassionate, innovative dermatologic care to help patients achieve their desired outcomes.
In addition to her professional interests, Dr. Dyck is also active in her church and community. She has volunteered with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, as a mentor to both undergraduate and medical students. She loves to sing and has been involved with college and community choirs for 14 years. Her other interests include cooking, traveling, spending time with her family and many sports. Running tops the list of favorite sports and she has completed three marathons and seven half marathons in the past three years.
