James Cantrell

Birmingham Doctor

Overview

Dr. Cantrell, along with Dr. Jimmie Harvey, founded Birmingham Hematology and Oncology Associates in 1984.  Their collective vision was to establish a network of quality Medical Oncology programs in community hospitals, filling an unmet need at the time to serve cancer patients in central Alabama.  That inital vision almost 30 years ago has grown into Alabama Oncology, with its 18 physicians and 9 cancer clinics.
