Biography

During his eleven years of active duty in the U.S. Military, Dr. Dykes developed his subspecialty interest in sports medicine and currently treats a wide variety of orthopaedic conditions.

Education

Dr. Daryl Dykes completed his general surgical internship in San Francisco and orthopaedic specialty training in Tacoma and Seattle, Washington. This is in addition to serving in Ft. Greely, Alaska as a flight surgeon and physician for the U.S. Army's Northern Warfare Training Center before joining Alabama Bone & Joint. As a specialist in cold weather injuries, he was the unit physician for the Army's mountaineering team and commanded the Army's only airborne forward surgical team in Europe, which was a rapid reaction surgical unit capable of operations in remote, adverse conditions.
